The Harvard Book Store opened in 1932 and has served Cambridge's students. It is independently owned and operated with no official Harvard University affiliation. Author Event Series spotlights household literary names, as well as up and coming stars, at reading and signing events all year. In 2002, our seventieth year of business, Harvard Book Stores excellence in bookselling was recognized nationally when we were awarded Publishers Weeklys Bookseller of the Year.

Walking from the Harvard Square T station: Red Line
As you exit the station, reverse your direction and walk east along Mass. Ave. in front of the Cambridge Savings Bank. Cross Dunster Street and proceed along Mass. Ave. for three more blocks. You will pass Au Bon Pain, Toscaninis, and the Adidas Store. Harvard Book Store is located at the corner of Mass. Ave. and Plympton St.
