Romantic things to do in Boston

Suggested attractions, museums, intimate hotels, tours, restaurants for couples in Boston.

If you’re looking for that perfect romantic getaway to Boston here are a few suggestions on what to do, where to eat, and where to stay.

We think the Beacon Hill Area is probably the most romantic place to stay in Boston. Out of the way from the touristy stuff, it’s a bit more residential than downtown or the Theater District. Try the Charles Street INN, a romantic Bed and Breakfast featuring Victorian furnishing. If you really want to splurge go for a room at the XV Beacon Hotel, the ultimate in luxury hotel, however this hotel comes with a price. Shop the antique stores on Charles Street, or go over to the Public Gardens for a romantic walk. For dining options in this area try the home-style Persian cuisine of Lala Rokh Restaurant.

Another good choice for romantic hotels is the Eliot Suites Hotel, located in Back Bay Boston. The Eliot is wonderful Boutique Style Hotel built in 1920’s. Dine in the Award Winning Clio French restaurant, or perhaps head over to the Prudential Center Top of the Hub Restaurant for great views of the city. In Back Bay you are close to Newbury Shopping as well as some of the best art museums.

Stop by the Museum of Fine Arts, or the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for a more intimate setting. (Grab a quick lunch at the café that opens up to the courtyard). Another good place for a romantic walk – right along the Charles River. For romantic dining don’t overlook the North End of Boston. Make a reservation at Mama Maria, one of Boston’s most authentic Northern Italian restaurants. Further south along the Waterfront you can go for a romantic walk go along the Harborwalk at sunset along Rowes Wharf. Nothing is more romantic than a Dinner Cruise on Boston Harbor on the Odyssey Cruise Ship.
